Renewable Energy - We Are All Responsible

We have entered an era of new awareness. More and more people become aware of the need to help contribute toward a greener environment because of disapearing energy resources. In our attempts to save water, save power and use solar and wind energy to power our appliances and homes we learn something new each day.

In terms of urgency it is about 5 minutes past 12 o'clock already. We now know that our existing energy resources won't last for much longer and every country is scrambling for solutions.

The sooner we can implement these, the better for all of us but most importantly for our children and their children. Luckliy though many young people are already keen to help contribute and you see a lot of ingenious inventions created by people who think outside the box. Recently a 17 year old kid from kansas managed to create a hybrid car, powered by electricity - all by learning how to do this on the Internet.

If teenagers can do something so elaborate and creative, then why can't we?

Are we perhaps just not commited enough to make a positive change? Do you put all the energy talks out there down to Hearsay or do you honestly feel we do need to act - yesterday?

Green Saving Energy Tips

The hardest thing for most people is to stay commited to their good intentions. It is easy to get excited about saving energy when you have just read a great story or news flash. However, many good intentions go wayward.

In order to stay commited to a greener planet I suggest you take small steps at any given time. You can start by switching off your appliances at home when they are not in use. Here are some green saving energy tips to get you started:

  • Refuse platsic bags at the supermarket checkouts.
  • Buy a compost bin for your garden.
  • Stop wasting fuel.
  • Buy a hybrid car.
  • Walk more.
  • Buy in bulk to avoid unnecessary shopping trips.
  • repair your leaking water taps.
  • Install a water aerator.
  • Switch to CFS light bulbs.
  • Avoid candles as they emit a lot of CO2.
  • Stop buying bottled water, buy a water filter instead and make your own.
  • Recycle paper.
  • Hold a garage sale instead of throwing out your old gear.
  • Stop buying things on a whim.
  • add your own tip.
